Bringing a generation of authentic Italian tradition- from working with the Cappoccia family in South Australia- founder Tony Overall combined the modern ideas, knowledge and skills gained from his time in the kitchens of such Sydney fine dining establishments as Darley St Thai, Mezzaluna, Bills and Bibotecca, to produce both quality and flavour in a pizza that is uniquely Doughboy's.
"Marrying age old formulas with modern ideas and high-end techniques was something I have always wanted to do", says Tony, "the result is an authentic, delicious and healthy pizza experience".
Today, Doughboy has evolved with the culmination of 4 business partners, each with unique skill sets and passion to take pizza to greater heights and new locations. Doughboy can now be found in North Bondi, Newtown, Potts Point, Randwick, Maroubra, Petersham and coming up soon, Abbotsford. Stay tuned for updates by checking back soon.
... Tony laments, "Ironically, doughboy was the nickname of a mate of mine that came about because he loved pizza so much. When starting this business we wanted a name - with a little humour - to capture our style of cuisine that emphasized it was made with integrity by passionate people for over a decade.
... Since we gave my mate the nickname in the first place, he didn't mind if we used it for the business".
